Leadership

Our leadership represents more than 70 years of combined experience in higher and secondary education. Since founding Prescience Associates in 1998, we have successfully completed more than 300 engagements, projects, and research investigations across a national clientele of research and regional universities, liberal arts and professional colleges, and independent schools.

Ron Wendeln

Managing Principal

After a successful career as a senior college administrator for academic affairs, advancement, and research, Ron joined a national consulting firm to establish its strategic and brand planning practices. In 1998, he helped found Prescience Associates to integrate business, brand, and performance planning for academic enterprises. Ron earned his BA from the University of Notre Dame (summa cum laude) and his Ph.D. as a University Fellow from Boston College. Active in community affairs, he has chaired boards of Greater Cleveland’s largest social services agency and a preeminent Catholic high school and served on various United Way and Catholic Diocesan planning and distribution committees. An avid endurance runner, Ron competes in marathons and trail ultramarathons.

Sheila Cowman-Wendeln

Principal

Sheila heads Prescience’s services in enrollment management, student marketing, and program recruitment, including on-site interim administration of college and independent school admission offices. Prior to joining our practice, she held a number of dean-level positions in admissions and financial aid. Sheila earned her BS in marketing from Ursuline College (with honors) and her master’s degree in counseling from John Carroll University.
